Our family is our greatest influencer, our greatest vice, our source of strength, our roots, our mirror and our truth. Through these women I have been given strength, resilience, determination, commitment, creativity, strong opinions, courage, curiosity, respect and love. They are the thread that connects me to my best and worst self. Their flaws are mine, their strengths are mine. Their determination to succeed, to love, to be power and grace at once flows through me and guides me each day. These women are my heritage and my future. The past predicts the future and I go forth into it with grit and joy.52 Portraits is a photography course in self discovery by Vanessa and is hosted through Get Messy Art Journal.
