Get Messy 08 & our first Art Journal Prompt!
Hi friends! I am crazy excited about the new and improved Get Messy Art Journal Challenges! We have heard your cry and are expanding our crafty circle to include everyone! We still have our 6 main hosts, but now we have an awesome list of weekly participants! AND!! We are going to be hosting monthly prompts for everyone to play along with. This is such a cool opportunity to show how unique we each are. We all will work off the exact same prompt but come up with completely different results. But well get to that later.Oh art journaling, I love you.I created these first 2 pages in response to what I have been processing through at our pre-field orientation the past 2 weeks. The first one was created because I had a lot of words in me that needed to get onto paper, so I did a very simple spread leaving lots of room for writing. This page is the opposite side of the coin of my feelings! I have been talking and dreaming and learning about Korea (and so many other places) these past 2 weeks, that I am just so ready to be there and get this party started!! How the prompts will work: The 6 main hosts will rotate creating prompts each month. On the first Thursday of the month, the new prompt will be announced (always on my blog) for you to participate too! The 6 hosts will have completed a page inspired by this prompt and share them on their respective blogs for your inspiration. You have about a month to complete your page(s) inspired by this prompt. Then we want you to return here (again, always on my blog) on the last Thursday of the month to participate in a fun link up so we can all admire your creation! Ok? OK!Prompt #1: Let's have a party! (created by me! -Lauren)Art Challenge: Plan a fun party! Create a collage detailing what your party will be like. Include food, drinks, décor, lighting, color scheme, dress code, place settings, location, guests, etc. Plan until your hearts content! There is no money limit or restrictions. Use your photos, magazines, art supplies, etc to create a collage, mood board or anything you would use to give to a party planner to convey your artistic direction for the event.Journaling challenge: Detail for us who you will invite, time of day, location, purpose, etc. Here is my garden party that I will be throwing in my favorite city, Charleston, South Carolina, USA. I think I would like to throw this quaint little event for the Get Messy hosts, as we've never met in person!
