Get Messy: Art Journal 05
Were back with another installment of Get Messy! And wow! Look at all those fantastic ladies who have joined. Thursday is becoming one of my favorite days because of all this rich inspiration! Anyway, here are some new pages I did where I played with yet another new technique/medium. This art journal for me is all experimentation. I don't care that things don't fit or there's not a common theme or style. I'm stretching my art arsenal of skills and that's what matters, right?!Each week I like to give myself a little theme or challenge. Last week was no Pinterest inspiration. This week I wanted to create my own backgrounds or papers. So each page started with a white base.I wanted to play with some 'brush script' here and this song wouldn't get out of my head or my heart.Oh the watercolors. How I have missed you and why was I so afraid of you?!. That quote defines my life. Seriously, every year summers brings a breath of fresh air that makes me realize how alive I am. Sadly though, my paper curled up like a southern girls hair in late July. I've got to ask Olya what type of papers she uses to prevent this!Creating this page I felt my mojo returning. And I mean the good stuff. Like high school art class good. I saw someone do a project with 'expressive flowers' a while back and wanted to try my hand at them and oh man, this was fun. This really pushed me to exercise some skills I don't really use with scrapbooking and I loved it. Every flower got better and better and felt more natural. I have got to try things likes this more! Now go check out everyone else's lovely pages!
