Lets catch up on Project Life: Halfway through
It's the end of September and this project is killing me. When Olya started the challenge to catch up I knew I needed this but my motivation is so short-lived. So. Short. Lived. I got really organized during the challenge week and printed so many weeks worth of pictures. I even completed a layout or 2 and then I was done. I'm so far behind and not excited about these old spreads anymore and had really high hopes and all these great plans for this year and just ran out of steam. So I'm developing a new plan to get the rest of the way caught up, get excited again and make things more manageable.I've decided to go to a Handbook next year. Smaller, more manageable and packs a lot of punch. But that's far off. So for now, I'm going to go to one page spreads only. This way I have to narrow myself down to only the few BEST photos and my favorite cards. This way I can maybe embellish a little more and can get creative about how I want to tell my stories. But for now. Here are my pages that I caught up on. And to be honest, some of these I did in the states but they were only half-finished. So it counts! Terrell's graduation page plus my moms birthday/mothers day. I love the framing in these spreads! Another random week. I love how colorful it is. We took our first Korean lesson and this was the first week of Get Messy. Can you tell how old these are?! This week was really the weekend. We had another yard sale, stayed with friends in Atlanta and went to a wedding in Atlanta. Had our last small group and one of our group members announced they were pregnant! And our ENTIRE small group was able to go to a Braves game (this deserved its own spread). Such a perfect weekend! I cut up the wedding program for embellishing. LOVE. Oh this spread has my heart for so many reasons. It was our last small group event and everyone was there and it was just the best. Also, I successfully used Photoshop for the first time without crying to chop that photo down to print it in 6 4x6. (only because Elise made a fantastic video that I followed) I'll probably add some journaling, but words just wont do this day justice. This is the 'were such cool hipsters' spread. We were eating downtown after church on Sunday and Terrell was in a good mood, so I took advantage of it and we had a little photo shoot. This is the week when Sh*t got real. I had my last day of work. We packed for real-real bags. We started giving away furniture, etc. I returned my last book to the library and our first small group friends moved. That "home is wherever I'm with you" card could not have been more perfect to describe the start of this journey. I included a few shots of us on a walk, a leisurely lunch and a pool day to remember some of the sweet and slow moments we enjoyed amidst the madness. Also, I'm obsessed with that card where I made the stripes pop by using matching washi tape to make flags! This week was CRAZY. Work had my going away party (they're the best) and we spent about a million dollars at Walmart on packing supplies and a years worth of toiletries. And then the burnt toast incident happened...Our house became bare, almost all the furniture was gone. Oh and Terrell renewed his license and got a new picture. His last one was from 15-year-old Terrell....I have no idea how he has survived as an adult....This is THE one. We moved. We packed everything up, put it in storage, sold the truck and said goodbye to the greatest town there ever was. EVER. Also, we matched on accident. Ps, some of those cards travel cards are from Laura Rahel, go get them, they are amazing! This is for sure my favorite spread in a long, long time. 8 spreads. Not bad. I'll take it. Im also going to move to a monthly sharing format. So hopefully next month, I'll share the rest of the spreads and be sort of more caught up. Complaining aside, I WILL FINISH THIS PROJECT. THIS YEAR.
