New crafts: cross stitch scattering
Over the past year I have been really crushing on stitched crafts, hoop art, embroidery, cross stitch, etc etc. Supplies here are really expensive (hoops are like 7$ each?!?), so when I went home to the USA this summer, I stocked up on lots of hoops and threads. I have so many ideas and fun things I want to stitch, but I tend to burn out quickly with new crafts and will just make the one thing I want to and never touch my supplies again. Which isn't always bad, but I wanted this to be a worth while investment and I bought like a million hoops* so I need to really explore this craft.I am so very inspired by Elizabeth Pawle's Scatterings pieces, so I decided to start there. To create a sampler type piece by learning lots of new stitches and to gain tons of ideas. So here I am, mid way through and I cannot keep my hands off of this piece! It is so fun and the perfect thing to do while watching a show at night in bed. I am legit learning new stitches, some I am just making up and some are just fun shapes. The goal is to fill the entire hoop and try lots of stitches. Some I immediately know I don't like or can't actually figure out and some I love that I didn't expect too! I'm learning by following tutorials and am gathering inspiration from lots of other pieces by some amazing artists. Some of my favorite artists are BreezeBotPunch, Merriweather Council, Oh My Heart, and Gulush Threads, You can see my inspiration board here.If you know of any inspiring hoop artists please let me know!*slight exaggeration
