Tailored made shirt
One thing we heard about before moving to Korea was that you could have clothes tailor-made very cheaply. Terrell is very tall and thin and has a hard time finding clothes to fit him height wise so he was very excited about this possibility. We were walking down the street, close to home, and saw a store we thought could be a tailor and stopped in. (Know shops are small and strange and their signs are either wrong/outdated or in all Korean. These things aren't always as easy to figure out as you would think) There were not walls, but fabric samples instead. We deduced we were in the right place. The process was actually very simple; a lot easier than buying a shirt actually. We chose a fabric. As you can see there are different prices and different types of fabric blends. We chose a 35$ option. Then the lady measured Terrell. Then she began 'customizing'. She had examples of other shirts hung up and allowed us to choose each element: cuffs, back pleats, button, pocket, next/tie portion, etc. You can also have other things made, like pants, jackets, etc. But those are VERY expensive. Like $150 per pair of pants expensive....excuse me while I go check Old Navy online for sales!Three days later, Terrell had a perfectly custom shirt! THREE DAYS! It fits amazingly and has all the specifications he likes! And its handmade, made with good quality fabric! We could not have been happier with how easy and stunning this experience was. Inside the shop/at night the fabric looked more red, but real men wear pink like a champ. Terrell officially wants to get rid of all his shirts and have his tailor make him a whole new wardrobe.... This was such a fun experience and I'm so glad the rumor was true! Have you had a tailor custom make clothes for you? Don't you feel lavish and rich and fancy?!***If you're in Korea and would like a shirt made, these shops are everywhere! We were so very happy with the lady we used and will go back to her. I don't know the name of the shop, but it is on Itaewon across the street from the Hamilton Hotel, on the right side of the Bokwang-ro intersection if your back is facing the Hotel. If you are at the intersection and walk towards McDonalds, it is the first tailor shop you come to.
