Hoopers on Foot goes global announcement cards
In preparation for our trip we wanted to find a quick easy way to keep people updated and to make a cute keepsake. I had been dreaming up these cards and Elise posted about a cheap service she used, called Overnight Prints, that allowed you to design your own cards and upload it without using their silly templates and I knew that was the best route for us!
I designed these cards using the A Beautiful Mess app and it was so easy! Heres how:
- I took the photo in our front yard.
- Opened the photo in the app.
- Added the text and border (aka I added about 7000 until I chose one)
- Saved it to my device
- I grabbed the free postcard template offline
- Opened it in the app as a new photo
- Added the text and the address lines
- Saved it to my device
- Uploaded both to Overnight prints
- Chose my print options. I chose the postcards and the slow shipping
- Received them in about a month and mailed them out
Such an easy process and only cost about $14 USD total! (Not including postcard stamps)The only issue I had was the preview mode. I did everything on my Ipad (which has a weird viewing mode for sites like this sometimes) and their phrasing about 'bleeding' didn't quite make sense so my cards have a white border around them that I did not intend for them to, but it was something I could live with. Other than that, this was a great experience and the cards came out great and I'm so happy that they are in people's hands!
