What I have learned while living in Korea Vol 1
This is a list of musings, of observations, of hard and fast facts, of opinions, of completely made up fairy tales. These are things I have learned since I have moved to Korea. Things about myself, things about Korea and things about things. Believe them or not, I believe them to be true.
- Costco is the perfect example of the yin and the yang. Pure glorious goodness and an evil that will be the death of you.
- My stove is too small to cook with more than 2 pots at a time, even though it has 4 burners.
- We have to turn everything on and off here every time we use it. Our gas for our stove, our air conditioning and our hot water.
- Koreans really like to add glitter, rhinestones and sparkly things to everything. Read EVERYTHING.
- Bidets are equally hilarious and horrifying.
- I may just fall over and never get back up from all the mountain climbing aka getting up to our apartment every day.
- I have never tasted more unique and delicious foods in my life.
- I really love Korean food.
- Bean sprouts are my new favorite food.
- Personal space and body odors are not to be taken for granted here.
- There are stores devoted entirely to pens. Expensive pens.
- These people love to shop. It is a daily way of life.
- I love riding the bus here.
- I still have not ridden the subway.
- This is how they drive: gas. Breaks. Gas. Breaks. Gas. Breaks
- If you give up your seat for an elderly lady, sometimes, she will hold your bags for you.
- They are dressed nice all the time.
- Oh you like that? Its got a cool modern pattern on it? Look carefully, there IS a cartoon character on there somewhere...
