Scrapbooking on the go, Part 1
I made my first minibook! EEKKK! Im so excited! Im in Love with it. Its my first one and honestly I was terrified. I just looked at all the adorable and creative ones online and was just so overwhelmed with inspiration and zero idea of where to start....
So I found some inspiration from here, here and here and just got started. I built it from the ground up like a normal scrapbook. I started by selecting papers that cried out Mexican-cruise-vacation-scuba-fun-relaxing-scrapbook-fantastic.
I picked out my 2 favorite pieces and created the front and back cover by modge podging the paper onto some thin cardboard that came out from in between a pack of scrapbook paper. I completely covered the back side of the paper, not the pretty side that faced out. You have to cover the entire surface or it will get all bubbly and rip.
Then I went through and matched up the papers the way I wanted them to be layed out for each page.
Then I punched holes in all the papers and put them on rings.
I didn't attach each page to the back/front of the next one because I still wanted the flexibility of changing papers around if I felt the need.
These are a few of favorite papers that I pulled out, most came from the Recollections paper pack: The Sweetest Thing, which Im using for my 1 Paper Pack, 10 Projects challenge. So this makes project number 2. Well part 1 of project 2. As I will be showing you the completed book in the next post.
I didn't pre-embellish, all I did was pack up my empty project life box (fantastic for traveling! More on that later) with the minimal supplies I thought I would need. I included my minibook, scissors, tape runner, washi tape, a nice journaling pen, a regular pen, a small notebook for notes, sticky notes and an assortment of journaling cards I thought would either match or had good writing prompts on them about travel, etc and hole puncher to add memorabilia into the book. And of course film for my new polaroid camera so pictures could go right in!! My goal was to either completely finish or have the bones of book done while on the trip. Tune back in to see the finished project and see how I used all my stash while on the trip!
***This project is part of a series called 1 Paper Pack, 10 Projects where I have challenged myself to create 10 different projects from 1 pack of scrapbook paper to give you ideas of how to use a scrapbook paper pad for projects other than scrapbooking and how to use as much of the pad as possible!
